Understand a profile's verification level
Trust is everything in childcare. NannyOra displays a verification level on each public profile, so you can see what has been reviewed. Listed profiles are registered but may not have admin-verified documents; higher levels show more completed checks.

Identity Verification
For profiles whose level shows identity verified, government photo ID — such as a passport or driver licence — has been reviewed.
It helps establish who a carer is before you decide whether to meet them.
You can distinguish a completed identity check from a profile that is simply listed.
Meet and Interview
A video or in-person conversation lets your family discuss communication, approach to care, routines and real scenarios.
Credentials cannot tell you whether the relationship and communication style will suit your family.
You make a considered decision rather than relying on a profile alone.
Reference Calls
Where a profile marks references as complete, NannyOra has reviewed the relevant reference evidence. Families can also ask questions that matter to their own role.
Specific examples of reliability, communication and care can be more useful than a generic endorsement.
You can discuss evidence relevant to your child and household, not only a broad claim of experience.
NZ Police Vetting
Police-vetting or safety-check review is shown on Premium Vetted and Specialist Care profiles. It is not a feature of every Listed or Verified profile.
The verification level helps you understand which evidence NannyOra has reviewed for that individual profile.
You can avoid assuming a listed profile has a Police vet when it does not show that completed check.
Qualification Review
Qualifications and First Aid credentials shown as verified have been reviewed. Discuss the experience and training that is most relevant to your child.
A qualification can be valuable, but its relevance depends on the care role and your child’s needs.
You can tell the difference between a stated credential and one marked as verified.
Trial Session
A short, paid trial gives your family a chance to observe the routine, handover and fit before committing to regular care.
The practical relationship matters as much as a profile or qualification.
You can assess the fit first-hand before agreeing to an ongoing arrangement.
Ongoing Check-ins
Keep talking about routines, safety information, boundaries and concerns after care begins.
Trust is not a one-time decision; a good arrangement needs clear, ongoing communication.
Small concerns can be raised and addressed before they become bigger problems.
